Children from Year 1 to Year 6 follow the novel approach where a high quality text promoting rich vocabulary is used as a stimulus to teach and develop reading, writing and oracy. The wide range of texts chosen, support the year groups projects where appropriate and guidance has been sought from the Centre for Literacy in Primary Education through their Power of Reading Teaching Sequences.
