Welcome to Foundation! We have lots of fun learning opportunities planned throughout the year and we are so excited to watch your child flourish at Rendell.
PE is on a Friday. Your child should arrive to school in their PE kit, suitable for the weather and appropriate for indoor or outdoor PE sessions.
Forest School is on a Monday. Please bring wellies and waterproofs. These can be left at school for the half term.
Please ensure your child has a named water bottle and all their items of clothing are labelled.
Please ensure your child brings their bookbag to school with their reading book inside everyday. Reading books will be changed weekly. Please remember to listen to your child read at least 4 times a week and log it on BoomReader!
Phonics
For Phonics information and support, please visit the Phonics section in the Parents section of our school website.
Handwriting
Please practice handwriting with your child. Using the phonics handwriting rhymes ensures the children are forming the letters correctly.
Reading
Please ensure your child reads 4 at least 4 times a week and record this on BoomReader.

Today, we used mirrors to take a really good look at ourselves before creating our own self-portraits using paint sticks! The children carefully observed their features, noticing their eyes, nose, mouth, hair and face shape, and then used what they could see in the mirror to create their own pictures. We talked about what makes each of us unique and special, celebrating our similarities and differences.
